I was swimming in a sea of cupcakes when it hit me. There I was, staring at a 60″x72″ canvas, thinking “I know how to do this! I can do this!” while munching on a Sprinkles cupcake at a swanky cupcake-themed charity event held at an even swankier photographer’s studio. I had been taking pictures my entire life… I had burned through millions of rolls of film taking “artsy” shots of everything from flowers to landmarks on vacation. I always had a camera in my hand. I had been trained to use cameras since I was 12. This was it. This is what I wanted to do.
Deena Riley Photography (or DRP as I affectionately refer to this business of mine) specializes in custom portrait photography for families – no matter how old your “babies” are. When I’m not here, I’m an 8th grade history teacher, wife to Mikel (say it like “Michael”) and mommy to 1 year old Arabella who is absolutely the light of my life! I also might be whipping something up in the kitchen or compulsively organizing something because that’s how I roll. I can’t wait to get to know more about you and your family!
