On this page, I’ve regaled you with lists of what I am (Mommy, Daughter, Wife…), the story of how I had my Oprah-esque “do what you love!” moment (at another photographer’s charity event)… and while it’s all true, ultimately this is me:

This is me and my mom, circa 1984. I love this picture. This picture sticks in my brain. Is it fancy? No. But it’s real. I love this picture. I love how this picture reminds me of how my own brunette, curly-headed little girl likes to give me smooches. How she wants a kiss when she hurt or scared or bored. I love that it captures the connection between me and my mom, who has always been a huge part of my life, who still is, and who always will be. Pictures are powerful. Pictures capture those precious moments. The thing that I love the most about taking pictures is when people let their guard down and let me capture moments like this for them. That’s what I love, deep down in my soul – those precious moments that are now captured and engrained on the hearts of the subjects.
This is the part of the “about me” page where the pros tell me I should sell you on how fabulous I am or how great my products are, but I think it would feel disingenuous. So, I’ll leave it at that and invite you to poke around my little web world if you’re curious. Or e-mail me… that’s always good. I’m good with the e-mail. I’ll gladly accept your call too, but I’ll admit that I’m phone-awkward. I always have been, so don’t be surprised. I’m trying to get better though!
Here’s a slightly updated photo of me, my hubby, Mikel (say it like “Michael”), and our precious Arabella who is rounding the corner on two these days…
